		<description>I finished this recently and agree it&#039;s a great book, an interesting premise with echoes of The Running Man and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (well, the Thunderdome bit.)

It&#039;s quite brutal and I think it&#039;ll be interesting to see how far they go with the film.  

I agree the beginning was slow, but I suppose in some ways it worked well as a slow-burner, ready for the gruesome nastiness which perhaps helped make it all the more appalling.
